My name is Darko Komso and I'm an archaeologist from Croatia. I'm excavating early and middle neolithic open air site in Istria, Croatia, and in the middle neolithic levels I found one notched spondylus, similar to the ones on the photos.
All the best with your excavations.

Dear Darko,
this is quite interesting, since, as far as I know notched Spondylus artifacts are extremely rare in Croatia. Correct me if I am wrong. Which site is the one you excavate? Are you sure that this is Spondylus? Are there any other contextual informations accosiated with this find?
Best wishes and hope to see somewhere 'your' notched Spondylus...
The site name is Kargadur, located some 10 km southeast of Pula, the largest town on peninsula. It is definitely spondilus, please instruct me how i could post you the photo of it.
All the best.
Darko
